The colorful festival of Holi celebrated on Phalgun Purnima which comes late or early March in February . Holi festival has an ancient origin and celebrates the triumph of ‘good’ over ‘bad’ . The colorful festival includes renewing the social gap and sweet relationships. On this day, the people embrace and wish each other ‘ Happy Holi’

It is observed mainly in India, Nepal and other parts of the world with significant populations of Hindus or people of Indian origin. In recent years the festival has spread to parts of Europe and North America as a spring festival of love, exuberance and colors.

Holi celebrations begin on the eve of Holi a Holika bonfire where people come together to sing, dance and party. The next morning is a free-for-all carnival of colors, in which the participants play, hunt and stain with dry powder and colored water, some filled with water guns and colored water balloons to fight with them for their water. Anyone and everyone is fair game, friend or stranger, rich or poor, man or woman, children and elders. The exuberance and struggle with colors enters the open roads, open parks, outside temples and buildings. Groups carry drums and other musical instruments, going from place to place, to sing and dance. People visit family, friends and enemies colored powder on each other, throwing laughter and gossip, then share Holi delicacies, food and drinks. Some drinks are intoxicating. For example, Bhang, an intoxicating ingredient of cannabis leaves, is mixed into drinks, and sweets and consumed by the evening man. In by disillusionment, people and friends and family visit dress.Holi is celebrated at the approach of the spring equinox , on the Phalguna Purnima ( full moon ) . The festival date varies each year according to the Hindu calendar , and usually comes in March , sometimes in February the Gregorian calendar . The festival signifies the victory of good over evil , the arrival of spring , end of winter , and for many a holiday to meet others , play and laugh , forget and forgive , and to repair broken relationships , and is also celebrated as Thanksgiving a good harvest .
